Visualize Your Git Repository History

What is Gitmotion?

Gitmotion is a web-based tool that creates visually appealing representations of Git repository history. It focuses on providing a clear and engaging way to understand the evolution of a codebase. The tool currently supports private GitHub repositories.

Gitmotion prioritizes the security and privacy. To generate a visualization a personal access token is required with the "repo" scope. The token is encrypted during transmission to the server. All repository contents are deleted from the server after the generation process is complete.

Features

  • Visualization Generation: Creates dynamic visualizations of Git repository history.
  • Browser-Based: Runs directly in the web browser without requiring downloads.
  • Private Repo Support: Specifically designed for private GitHub repositories.
  • Data Security: Encrypts access tokens and deletes repository data after generation.
